Hi All!
*ERG* I have to write a paper on a conspiracy theory--my problem...I can't find a good one to write on! Aliens, JFK, 9/11--done to death! Anyone have a good idea for a paper? All my sources can be from the internet, and it can be as wild and crazy as you like--I just need to write on it!
Help--before the aliens abduct me again...

The moon landing wasn't real?
I googled "conspiracy theory." My favorite so far, which I had never heard before, is the "Paul is Dead" theory. Apparently, Paul McCartney died in 1965 and was replaced by a look and sound-alike. :D

I vote for the JFK one and title it this way-
Who would've wanted JFK dead?
Russia, Cuba, the FBI, the CIA?
And then talk about each reason.
And at the end write I want you to think about this question the most.
Will this answer ever be found?
The moon landing wasn't real?
My personal favorite!!!

Or how 'bout government dietary guidelines? (I like this one.)

David Icke's conspiracy theories are fun! I'm sure you could find loads of stuff on the Internet about his comprehensive theory on reptilian humanoids, the illumanti, the Rothchilds/Rockefellers, Matrix theory, shape shifters that can travel different dimensions, and more! He even thinks that George W. Bush and Queen Elizabeth are reptilian shape shifters (cool!).

He has his own site (though you need to login): http://www.davidicke.com/index.php/
The radio talk show called Coast to Coast (with George Nori and Art Bell --I call him Fart Smell) is also great fun! They are usually on air around 10/11pm at night. They talk about all sorts of crazy conspiracy theories and paranormal stuff (maybe you can get some ideas from them). The people who call in are the best--loonies. Wacky wacky wacky!

First off-- sorry to hijack this thread, but OH MY GOSH Humboldt Honey! Have you read the "Murder By Injection" book? I read both your links (thanks by the way, for the interesting info) and wanted it and went to order it and it's $85 to $125!!! It's not even available at Barnes and Noble. I had to go to Amazon.com. I'm going to guess it's out of print because of the Rockefeller's wealth and influence. ??? ?? Good way to keep the info from being well known by limiting the number of people who can afford to buy it!! ...Uhh, too much conspiracy theory ideas gone to my head already?! ::) I wonder if my library will have it available. Anyway, thanks for the links. I'm going to get my hands on that book somehow or another. Sounds fascinating.
There are lots of conspiracy theories surrounding Google. Just enter "Google conspiracy"...in Google. ::)

No, but I really want to. I keep hoping to find it in a library book sale. You can get it for a little less at http://www.abebooks.com. I just checked and there's a copy without a dust jacket for $50 (still expensive for me). I've been thinking of asking a librarian to help me interlibrary loan a copy, if that's possible.

yeah i took a class on the beatles, and someone actually wrote a book about this called "glass onion" which is the song in which john lennon acknowledges the theory with the line "here's another clue for you all, the walrus was paul"
I'm sure you could find something on here considered one, or it'll just scare the crap out of you. :o

My roommate is kind of obsessed wtih conspiracy theories..we talk about at least one every day, and she's kind of got me stuck on them now. Our tv is permanently on the history channel and we're convinced of almost ANYTHING. The most recent: the Philadelphia Experiment....DUN DUN DUN.
coming from a christian (nevertheless)
the conspiracy theories surrounding the resurrection (or lack of) of Christ
(the swoon theory)
(wrong tomb)
(never really dead)
etc....
should make for interesting debate
You could do the whole "anti-pope Pope" thing, which is quite hot here...we have a local guy claiming to be the one real Pope in history...
Google "Pope Joan"....quite interesting...

Another Pope conspiracy... http://rigorousintuition.blogspot.com/2005/02/my-god-they-killed-him.html
about the supposed murder of Pope John Paul I.
That site has hours worth of conspiracy reading fun and links. ;)
Here's a good one: http://rigorousintuition.blogspot.com/2005/01/another-microbiologist-murdered.html

He must know.
There is a lot of stuff out there on this. All the clues are in the songs & on the cover of Abbey Road & Sgt. Peppers. Some say that Paul McCartney died in a car accident & that a look-alike from Toronto took his place. I don't know if I believe it or not but there are some interesting coincidences.

HUGE Beatles Fan! This is my favorite conspiracy theory. There is tons of info out there. Lots of songs elude to it...album covers too....On the famous Abbey Road Album, the rumor is, it was picturing a funeral procession...John, in white, was the priest, Ringo, in the suit, a pallbearer, Paul, barefoot with a cigarette was dead, and George in jeans was the gravedigger.
Interesting stuff!

Also, Paul's eyes are closed, & the license plate on the car behind them ends with 28IF.They say Paul would have been 28 if he hadn't died.
Sgt. Pepper is loaded with clues too.
startaurus, you've never heard of this conspiracy theory? Here's a link, you might like
