i feel gross right now.

i ate completely vegan yesterday, but still feel "yucky" about it.
it was a marching competition yesterday and the band parents feed us.
so i brought along a PB & J for me.
anyway, i had my sandwhich, fritos, and gatorade.

i don't know why i feel so weird about it.
i've always not cared much for chips and i don't like sugary drinks even though they are good for band kids.
i think it was the fact that no veggies were involved in my dinner.
hmmmm...
i want to like live off of nothing but salad today. ;D

you shouldn't feel gross
don't let food rule your life, it will make being vegan extremely hard.

I know what you mean chickpea. If I don't have something fresh and raw with each meal I feel yucky too.

Oh and by the way sugary drinks aren't good for anybody.

I have just discovered coconut water and it's great!  Much lower in sugar, too.

I feel the same way when I don't get my quota of veg, Chickpea, whether it be cooked or raw. I'm ovolacto and sometimes (esp when travelling) I find I'm heavy on the ovo and the lacto and really light on the veg and fruit.

There's nothing wrong with eating a bunch of fresh veggies, cooked or raw, the next day, if that's what your body wants.

well dear, if you're drinking gatorade be sure to brush teeth after!!
i often feel all grossy after eating gross food.  (makes sense eh?)  since i usually do so after drinking heavily (i once thought it was a blessing to live a block from an all-night vegetarian diner).  i try to make sure and eat a big healthy meal before i go out.
but i guess this would probably make you puke if you are marching all day.  maybe you could carry snap peas and carrots in your pocket.  you could also share them with passerby and small children.  this might be a little more difficult if you are playing an instrument with your mouth, but if you are in drumline you could just munch away the whole time.

Piccolos are best.

I just hought I'd chime in and tell you that the same thing happens to me during marching. If I don't bring my own food....I have a really bad day. Then I get grumpy and the rest of the flutes have to deal with it. I usually either bring food or have my mom bring me some dinner at weekend camps. If my mom can bring it, then I love having cold fresh fruit for dinner on a hot day. But when we go to compete, it's really difficult.

My band is going to Florida next weekend, and I still haven't figured out what provisions I'm going to need. ::)

Sorry for rambling.

I totally understand because I had a similar day.  I had to spend a day helping out at a dog show (no I don't show dogs but doing a favor for my boyfriend's mom) and there was not much food for me there.  There was potato salad, egg salad, chicken salad, lasagna (with meat) roast beef and turkey.  I'm ovo-lacto but still felt gross by everything being so chock full of mayo (which I never really liked).  So I had some potato salad and a cheese sandwhich, then picked on donut holes and candy.  I felt so gross by the end of the day!  I had to vow to have some fruit and grains when I got home.
