Ohhhh, what time?
I don't even know what channel that comes on haha.
9 pm Eastern time, I believe. I just got an email from a friend about it, so hopefully he's accurate!
Ooohhh! I hope someone posts it online.
There's a Larry King poll --> Do you eat meat?
So far:
Yes 79% 2317
No 21% 602
Total Votes: 2919
ahhhhhhhhhh guys go vote on that haha.
I taped the 12 o'clock one because I get access to the tv during 0% of the day.
(literally).
But I will watch it tomorrow!
Article recapping the show --> Should Americans banish the burger? It appears that Larry King had the anti-burger/meat people on first, so he could end with the people who think meat is great.
It wouldn't be complete without one of these people:
research wasn't selling for Nancy Rodriguez, a professor at the University of Connecticut. She says meat is a key part of a good diet.
"I think that animal proteins provide essential nutrients that you are able to get in a unique package of foods for, let's say, about 200 calories -- a three ounce serving of meat," Rodriguez said. "And I think that when you make a choice to eliminate those animal products from your diet, it becomes a challenge, particularly for certain vulnerable populations such as infants and children, to get those nutrients in."
Rodriguez said people choosing a vegetarian diet have to be extra diligent to supplement their diet with iron, zinc and calcium.
Her claim is just ignorant. She should have backed up her "I think that when..." with, I don't know, actual information? Anyway, we all know this. Besides, if she wants to talk about calorie density, then per calorie, broccoli has more protein than meat, plus antioxidants, no cholesterol/fat, lots of fiber, etc. What's she's saying is just false.
Anyway, I'm sorry I missed the show!
Here's a link to the show:

This interview is ridiculous. Especially the guy who was saying, "we have to remember how GOOD meat tastes and how good it smells when its cooking".
Also, the guy who was saying "factory farm" is just a negative term referring to a cheap and efficient way to provide Americans with affordable meat. The lowest price in the world!
So yes, meat should be eaten because it tastes good and its cheap.
1. I don't think they listened enough to what Campbell was saying.
2. The nutritionist repeated herself in every reply, and supplied no evidence to backup what she had to say. She even said the China Study wasn't as great as you'd think.
3. They spelled vegetarian wrong! (the people who make the show, not the person who was a vegetarian).
4. I wish the people at the beginning were vegetarian and didn't just avoid "some meats." One of the ladies said something like "it was an innocent death that could have been prevented," talking about a human. Well, animal deaths could easily be prevented, as well.
5. I have a strong dislike for most chefs. It's all about taste. Damn. People think vegans get over sentimental and only think what we do because we don't eat them; but truly, so many meat eaters wont go veg because it tastes good! That's pretty one-track minded.
That's my opinion.
I also think the Campbell is not the best at presenting his case. He sort of said it in a "preaching to the choir" fashion instead of trying to convince these morons who obviously know nothing about nutrition. I wish he had stated more facts. Someone should have mentioned how the FDA recommends too much protein, because that dumb lady kept bringing up protein and calories, etc....
It also seemed the Campbell really didn't have as much time to speak as the others.

What do you mean by "preaching to the choir" ? (I know what it means, I just don't get what you mean by that).
And I agree, I feel he didn't get as much time to speak.
He had good things to say, but I feel with all the "we must go to a break" stuff, he couldn't put forth what he had to say.
