Sorry for the late notice, but I just found out about it. I hope it catches on, tomorrow and in the future.

it stinks that this has not been promoted more...it is such a good idea but this is the first I have heard of it.
I like this! Locally we do something similar, simply because people are too lazy to call the City to haul their unwanteds, people just leave them by the trash bins and other people scavenge at will. I once curbed the components of a gargantuan, damaged mahogany table I had fallen heir to, and then went back to get the biotrash to toss. By the time I got back to the bin, the table had gone.
I checked out the website and noticed he lives in North Chili, NY. I like that. Of course in the winter that would be Chilly....
Next time it happens I'm going to get it in my local paper ahead of time.
I've been meaning to make a donation to Goodwill and get rid of stuff, and this inspired me to do it. I'm even getting Z to get rid of some clothes (this man has clothes like you'd never believe. And shoes. So many shoes).
I just gave away over 2 dozen pairs of Caitlin's shoes. She has worn the same size for 2-1/2 years and just grew almost 2 sizes in a month. This is an excellent idea. I'm always giving stuff away. It would be nice to be able to keep more just in case I have another child, but I simply don't have the space, and other people are in need.
Here they have junk week twice a year. Basically you can put anything to the curb, and the city will dispose of it. It sounds really wasteful, but almost everything that is put out that truly isn't trash is scavanged. A lot of people go around collecting scrap medal to recycle too. I got some plastic yard items for my daughter that way as well. It's kind of fun to see what you can find.
I went through my stuff and found things to give away. Until I have reliable transportation I can't take it anywhere, but it feels good to clear things out.
