:howdy:
I and my loved ones are quite alright after the local earthquakes. (Physically, at least. It's a time of great worry and stress.) I thought you might want to know. :)
A 4.5 just hit Wellington tonight fire service is saying no damage but wanting to check in - Shell, are you and N ok? And Heli, I heard there was another aftershock down there too... sending much love xoxox
I am fine. Was on the 9th floor of a highrise and it was a significant wobble so a bit freaky, considering how on edge the whole country is right now. Today we all observed 2 mins silence for the quake and now it' moving northward. I can't even imagine how horrible it is in Christchurch where the shaking just keeps happening every day. xxx
How is everyone doing? Has anyone heard from shell?

I hear folks in Wellington are worried, and fair enough. The whole country's probly on a panic hair-trigger for any activity, thanks to recent events. I do hope Mother Nature gives us a break and settles down. :-\ I haven't heard from shell on Facebook, but I have heard from theo, and my cousins up in Welly.
Yeah. N's parents are visiting, so maybe she hasn't had a chance to be online.
The aftershocks or new small earthquakes are unthinkably exhausting because no one's adrenaline and stress is allowed to calm.

Precisely. You've hit the nail on the head. :(
Hope nothing hits you on the head, dear Heli!!
Must be pretty awful for N's parents to go to NZ on a wonderful visit...and coincide with the quakes. I bet they think it's a horrid place, and it isn't, not usually!
Hm, well, nothing physical has hit me on the head, but this whole sitch is overwhelming and surreal and down-making. Kinda does my head in. Thank ye yabbit. :-*
I certainly hope that people overseas, potential travellers and so on, don't get put off our beautiful country. I hear that some folks hardly know the size/range of the country and need to be told that, no, the entirety of NZ has not been shaken apart, only Christchurch.
This being said, I find it hard to trust my home city ever again. :( We're considering moving away, maybe to Nelson.
((Heli)) I'm so sorry about all that you've been through lately. I can't even imagine what it must feel like but I hope things get better asap!
sorry guys.....yeah been pretty busy with N's parents being here, but all totally safe and sound. I felt the Welly earthquake on Tues night and thought it was N shaking his legs around in bed and had a go at him for it before realising what was going on. Didn't really feel much and think maybe because our house is 1) old and absorbs the shakes or 2) is on a big hill / small mountain.
As N's parents were away in Taupo on Tues night they didn't feel a thing. There was also a 4.7 quake last night (2am) which I slept soundly through as did everyone else in our house, although loads of people at work got woken up by it.
