It wasn't a mandatory evacuation, was it?
Cause, last I heard, (30 minutes ago) my partner is still in Carlsbad, sitting at home ... along with the rest of his neigbors. Maybe it depends on the area of Carlsbad? I don't know. I told him he should forget it, and come visit me!
everything is much better tonight it seems
this morning after work I drove out near one of the fires and up on a hill to just watch what was going on....it was actually quiet beautiful when the sun was still below the horizon (still terrible though)

i figured it was much better since we have clear blue skies in SLO today. man is it hot, though.
It's good to hear you all are okay. I'm camping in the Bay Area so the fires aren't affecting me at the moment, but my community is under mandatory evacuation. My neighbor took my cat with her when she evacuated and he's at another neighbor's daughter's house. It's awesome that they all pulled together for my cat (picture to your left). So, if the looters bypass my house and it doesn't burn, it'll all be jake.
