You know what really grinds my gears.......

Ok so maybe I'm just a weirdo, but there's silly little things that really bug me for no apparent reason - what about the rest of you?  Is there any little thing that really annoys you, but probably shouldn't that much?

Ok I'll start:

I hate it when peolpe jiggle their legs up and down when they're sitting down.  Some people will do this continually and I HATE IT.  There's no logic to my annoyance but it really bugs me.

It also bugs me when women put their make up on on public transport - just wake up earlier if you want to wear it - and don't give people dirty looks when they stare at you.

1. People who don't turn their cells to vibrate in church, movies, or out to dinner with family/friends.

Related to this. I've probably posted this before. But whatever.
People who put their phones on vibrate during tests and things in class and ignore it and let it loudly go off. SERIOUSLY?! It is not that hard to put it on silent if you're going to ignore it anyways and its just going to disrupt everything.

And. People who say they want to hang out a certain day but pretty much ignore you until midnight or 1am when they're done hanging out with other people and other things. That is poopy and does not count as the same day. Sitting around all night waiting for some one to let you know that now they're free is super annoying.

Thanks Amy and LLG, life has gone on but it does grind my gears a little still...

UnderSarah that is annoying, on the same note with people hanging out and cell phones when people try to send you the brush-off text  but won't answer your call a few seconds later.  I mean theres a time and place to text, but if you had plans with someone or just talked to them why not just talk on the phone for a minute instead of sending some random excuse text message.

However, I don't like random rambley excuse phone calls either. I just got one. Stupid. Seriously, stop trying to make some stupid conversation when you're just going to end it with "well I'm home and I'm not coming over so goodnight"

I'm sorry but most of the time vibrating phones are just as loud as ringing phones! I agree US that the vibrating phone during a test thing is really annoying, it made me want to punch people... Turn your fucking phone off! Check it after class! People are so ridiculously attached to gadgets these days... And in CHURCH! My God people are so clueless... I think it would be awesome if the pastor stopped the sermon, called them out, and made them leave.

That I freakin' focus the meals that I prepare around other people...no mushrooms, nooch or asparagus , which I love, but he can't eat because it aggravates a med condition and when it is "his" turn to cook, he makes something that I won't eat and says "you make what you want"  >:( >:( >:( Tonight is not going to be a good night!

kind of similar, but my boyfriend is picky about some ingredients (no medical reason), and so i often just exclude them or make recipes that don't rely on them. it seems like whenever it's a recipe that would really benefit from peppers & onions (two things he doesn't like) and i exclude them, oh, he's going to make himself ramen/cereal/whatever anyway. damnit, i could have had food i liked!
sometimes i just make food that i like and he'd hate (french onion pie! etc), and tell him he can have his ramen or cereal : )

My BF hates peppers and onions but I love them, I make it how I like and he can pick off whatever he doesn't like... Picky bastard

Picky bastard

haha. sometimes i leave pepper in and he doesn't notice if it's strongly flavored. otherwise he can taste it (i can too), so i usually just omit it. i didn't mind it so much (peppers were expensive), until recently when i found baby bells at the 99cent store. Yeah. Now I wanna make pepper things.

Our pastor doesn't, but our churchwarden has on occasion at least asked them to leave the room and deal with whatever, and return with the phone turned off.

N's parents KNOW that their webcam does not give sound, or when it does it is very very intermittent......but they keep insisting on trying to have webcam conversations with us!!  Why, ,when they know it doesn't work properly....and I have shown them mine which works fine and was only £10.  They are not poor so just buy one already!

Corollary: A person calls you that you KNOW only ever calls you when they want something from you. It's not a "friendly let's chat" call, but they feel the need to beat around the bush with insincere, lame chatter for at least 5 min before they cut to the chase. This leaves me even less impressed with the person than if they'd just tell me what they want. Makes me want to just say no.

You call someone and a family member promises to have them call back when they get in. They don't. You call back. Another family member answers. Nothing is said about a message being given. You give up in disgust. The information was for the person you were calling, not you....if they don't care enough to call back, why should you? But you now feel stupid.

Speaking of cell phones, I was at a funeral lately for an elder in our church.  Some guy's cell phone rings.  Does he shut it off, does he quitely slip out of the room, does he at least whisper.  No!  He say in the middle of the room and had a conversation at regular room volume.  This guy has always gotten on my nerves, but this tops the cake.

wow, that's the exaggeration that people make about bad cell phone users - interrupting a funeral.

Unfortunately it was no exaggeration.  The surprising thing is that the guy is in the 80+ age group.  You think he'd have more respect even solely based out of fear of what his funeral will be like.

I laughed out loud at this. I'm sorry. Jokes about death/old people just get me every time.

A couple of months ago my doctor thought I had Crohn's disease, and my mom took me to some testing because Z was in school. She gets freaked out by hospitals and she saw me vomiting blood from a procedure, etc. She freaked out. So, she thinks I'm dying from Crohn's (she overreacts a LOT), so she starts being really nice to me and starts buying me clothes. (My mother has not purchased clothing for me in about 10 years). She wanted to buy me a really nice new dress for Z's sister's wedding. Anyway, I was explaining this to a friend, and she quietly says "Maybe she wanted you to have something that looked decent for your open casket at your funeral." I laughed for about 10 minutes. She was embarrassed that she said it, but I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. Ironically, if I was terminally ill, my mother WOULD think about my lack of new/nice clothing. Hilarious.

oh wow, so morbid, yet so great.

My Danish grandma, years before her death, chose the clothes she wanted to be buried in and put them on a special hanger in the wardrobe, telling everyone within reach that's what they were for. She never wore them again until the funeral...when they found she had laid out undies too...including a brand new corset (well, I said they had been hanging there for years!). I know they tend to slit the back of casket-clothes and just put them over the body that way, but I still giggle at the thought of Mr Stark (our local mortician with the well-chosen name) wrangling my rather large Tanda into her corsets!!

>:( People who flip off the camera when their picture is taken. They think they're so badass that they have to something so immature to be cool.

Note to flipper-offers: You're a douchebag when you do shit like that.
