:>Feeling Great! Super energized, happy, painless, and living in the now. My intuition has heightened, which is a good quality in my profession. I am a massage therapist/teacher and at alternative health care clinic. After I work out in the morning I take a sea salt bath with medicinal essential oils. I find I am vibrating through the day. I have done this fast for 32 days before. I feel I can go another 7 at least. I will take one day at a time. Off to have a great day....Bye
Jilly
i hate that cleanse... i will never do the salt water part of it ever again... I did only the lemonade part the last time I did it and lasted only like 4 days... 32 is crazy
im afraid of ever doing it. i think it was on here that someone did it and it fucked up their metabolism. mine is already shot, so although i'd love to do it, im too afraid of the possibly disastrous results
the first time i tried it i included the drinking salt water part... i didn't eat for 5 days (except the lemonade) and gained 10 pounds!!! i am really sensitive to salt so i think i REALLY bloated up... the lemonade only cleanse worked... the salt water makes u shit, the lemonade makes you pee just in case u didn't know
Did you use sea salt or table salt? I know 100's of people who have done this cleanse many times and I havent heard of any bad results yet. I have done it about 10 times in the last 5 yrs and it did all good things. Everyone is different, and this isnt for everyone thats for sure.
I used sea salt... Good luck on your cleanse
Please explain this cleanse to me. I've never tried it before, and would very much like to give it a whirl. I need some clarity badly right now, mind and body. Thanks!
Its called "The Master Cleanse" By Stanley Burroughs. In his book "The Master Cleanser" or his book called "The Age of Enlightenment", you can get all the recipes. But to sum it up, you drink 32 oz of water with 2 tsp sea salt in it, in the morning. You don't assorb it, it goes right through you. Like an internal shower. Then t he rest of day you can drink a spicy lemonaide of 8 oz water, 2 tb. fresh squeezed lemon juice, 2 tbs grade b maple syrup, and 1/10 tsp ceyenne pepper. Plus you can drink water all day, and I have one glass herbal tea at night. I also have one 8 oz cocnut water also. The first 3 days are harder than the rest. One you get past like the 4th day your energy goes up every day.
If you decide to do this cleanse, just make sure you checkout both sides. Some people swear by it, others report serious side-effects.

I don't advocate or oppose it, I just believe in having as much information as possible.
Thanks so much for all the info, ladies! I look forward to checking it out.
This cleanse seems harsh, Im glad its not soda lemonaide. But still 32 days without solid food is not natural for your body.
I did the candidia diet and did a two day liver cleanse where i only ate fruit and drank water. I also had some natural powder that would flush everything from your system. That was hard enough.
I woud definately recommend reading about it more and think if your body can handle this process, if you are have good levels or iron and calcium maybe you would do okay.
I agree 32 days is extreme... I would not recommend that for anyone... I thought I remembered 10 days being a good amount of time to do it
Your body isn't meant to deal with that much salt. Where is the proof it doesn't absorb? I'm skeptical.
I tried the lemonade part once, but didn't stick with it more than a day or two. I don't remember the salt water part...but that sounds very unhealthy for your kidneys.
Im all done with my cleanse, I went 11 days. The 11th day I drank only orange juice, water and herbal teas. 12th day I had only veggie broth and a few veggies from it that night. I am eatting veggie soup all day today and for the next week. Yummm to veggie soup!

I'm intrigued. I just stumbled into this thread. Did you go 11 days without solid food? Didn't you drop a lot of weight? I'm interested in the details. Sorry if I missed something.
Yes I went without food. The spicy lemonaide has all the vitamins/minerals you need. I did loose about 15 lbs. I usually gain 5 back though.I ate the veggie soup for 7 days. I added fruit slowly back a little at a time. Today was the first day I ate food besides soup and fruit. I had fallafels and mung bean soup....super good!l
I'll bet you feel super-full at that first meal off the fast. Is there any protein in this cleanse? Is this a book, article, or are the details posted somewhere?

The spicy lemonade has all the CALORIES you need not vitamins and minerals BTW

after the fast your not supposed to eat right away, i believe you drink OJ for a few days, then eat only fruits and veggies the next few days after that and then start eating regularly i believe
no protein at all... try google-ing... it's also called the lemonade diet

The book, "Age of Enlightenment" by Stanley Burroughs, or "The Master Cleanser" by same guy. I do not feel deprived or lacking anything while doing this. I am very intuitive about my body and I would know.
By those figures, on a long term diet, a person would be deficient in:
essential fatty acids (+ fat in general)
protein
calcium
iron
magnesium
phosphorus
potassium
copper
selenium
vitamin E
all the B vitamins
vitamin A
though cayenne pepper has a good amount of vitamin A, with the proportions given for the Master Cleanse, you'd only be eating about 1 tsp a day, which does not provide enough vitamin A.
using approximately 20 Tbsp of maple syrup per day will only provide all the needed zinc and manganese. It provides some other stuff, but it doesn't add up to 100% with the other ingredients (calcium, iron).
when a source says something "contains" such and such vitamins and minerals, it doesn't necessarily mean that it contains significant quantities... it seems like usually they'll cite an amount if it is significant. Someone mentioned this on the honey thread regarding honey (some place claimed it contained all these nutrients), but as it turns out it only contains trace amounts of most of them.
Also, at 10 glasses of lemonade a day, that'd only be about 1100 calories. I don't think that's even basal metabolism (lying in bed awake all day) for most people.
I know that you didn't feel deprived, and it's probably not very harmful in the short term, but a person couldn't safely do this in the long term, and the statement that the diet "provides everything" is not true.
I just think of it as more of a fast... not a healthy diet were your getting all your nutrients... come on it's "lemonade" and salt water
