Weekly Giveaway: Lavender Hand Wash! Saskia is the winner!

Okay, I know that "the holidays" are technically in November and December but jeez, it seems like they're just not stopping right now either. Superbowl, Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, Presidents Day, WHEN WILL IT END? Can we please call a moratorium on things to celebrate until April? Oh wait, when is St. Patrick's Day? Le sigh. If all this holiday stress is getting you down, perhaps you need to surround yourself with lavender. Lavender helps relax you and eases tension. Even though Lavender Hand Wash by Desert Essence Organics (http://www.desertessence.com/skin-care/lavender-hand-wash-relax}  is only for washing hands, you'd be surprised how calming it can be. With this stuff in the house, you'll want to wash your hands every ten minutes. Just be careful it doesn't turn into an OCD thing because that is NOT relaxings.

To enter to win a bottle, let me know what your favorite way to relax is.

Giveaway ends on Tuesday, February 23rd at midnight, PST! Winner will be chosen at random!

Good luck!

Breathing. That's it. I discovered the power of the breath in relaxation during yoga class, but my breath has been a refuge from chaotic moments in my life in situations on and off the mat. It seems to easy, but a mindful inhale and exhale works wonders to soothe the mind. :)

I usually put on comfy clothes, cuddle on the recliner with my daughter and watch movies, or do crossword puzzles, or write.

Holding my cat, stroking my cat, my cat up against my heart, my cat cuddled next to me in bed, is my favorite way to relax.

I relax with a fun book while soaking in a hot bath.  Good herbal soaps and scrubs make for pure luxury.

I love to use lavender to relax.  I have a lavender water mist that I use on my pillow at night, lavender hand cream, and lavender scented candles plus more.

Working out is always a big plus, instant relaxation!  If I can't get to the gym though, playing silly video games with the boyfriend or simply grooming my horses are good ways for me to wind down.

Usually one of 2 things:
Put in a good workout at the gym followed by a nice long steam in the sauna, or curl up on the couch with a beer, vegan brownies and some Star Trek (TOS of course)

my favorite way to relax is just to sit and watch tv and not do anything else

Relaxing for me goes right along with drinking some catnip tea then curling up with my husband in bed and getting that "deep tissue massage" that we both like so much.  ;D

I like to curl up on the couch, have cookies and hot chocolate (vegan obviously) and watch musicals.

That sounds awesome! If you don't mind me asking, where do you have a sweat lodge? Do you participate in a ceremony with a larger tribe or do you make your own? I've always been curious. I took a course on Native American religion last semester, and from what I learned in books (which isn't much) the sweat lodge ceremony sounded incredibly powerful.

ARSeese- I love lavender! It's been too long since I made the effort to use aromatherapy to relax. Thanks for the reminder, I'm going to sprinkle a few drops of lavender on my pillow tonight before I go to bed. :)

I relax by doing my daily run, then coming home and taking a hot shower and washing the day away. Then I start to make dinner, listen to music, maybe drink some wine, then I eat my scrumptious, healthy vegan dinner with my boyfriend. If I'm really stressed, I beg him for a back rub. They're awesome, and I recommend them to NOBODY because they're all mine!  ;D

I go to a lodge in Brooksville, FL on Mary Spirit Wind's property.  I participate with other lodge members.  We are of varying tribal affiliations. The ceremonies follow the Lakota tradition, though there are sometimes visiting elders that conduct ceremony in other traditions.  It's a truly amazing experience every time.
