You are here

8th continent.

8th Continent soymilk is my favorite soymilk in the whole world. period. So it really bothers me when I hear conflicting information about whether or not it's vegan. Can someone please clear this up for me? Did it used to be animal derived and they changed it? What's the final answer?

Here's the ingredients for their regular soy milk. I don't think it is organic or GMO free (if that is important to you...(also I guess you can email and ask them what "Natural and Artificial Flavor" is. Kind of iffy

Soymilk (Water, Soy Protein, Soybean Oil, Calcium Phosphate), Sugar, Potassium Citrate, Sodium Polyphosphate, Dipotassium phosphate, Soy Lecithin, Salt, Xanthan Gum, Carrageenan, Natural And Artificial Flavor, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Vitamin A(Palmitate), Vitamin D2, Vitamin B12

Hope this helped...

8th continent is not organic and those ingredients sound suspicious to me. i dont use soymilk unless it ist organic, period.

I would be suspicious of 8th continent-the last thing I heard was that they get their vitamin D3 from lanolin-it's an animal byproduct. Here's a link that talks about it:  http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/faqingredients.htm
I only drink Silk and Edensoy.

I remember buying this and not liking it ... not sure if it was because of taste, or because it didn't dissolve well in my coffee.

I contacted 8th Continent's consumer relations people and they have converted to vegan sources for all ingredients.  They were not vegan in the past, but they were as of my contact with them roughly 7 months ago.  :)  Hope this helps.

DUCKALUCKY, you're back!!! Where the "h" have you been? I've missed your posts. I presume your move went well. Hope you're back on the boards for good now. (Sorry about hijacking this thread. We can get back on topic again now. :D)
