What more can I do?

I became Vegan 4-5 months ago, and I love my choice and will never change it. The only problem is I'm not satisfied with the difference I'm making on this personal level - I want to do more!
I tried joining the RSPCA (animal welfare organization) to campaign, but found that they wanted better conditions for the animals going to slaughter, not the end of slaughter, and I couldn't compromise to be a part of it. I don't care if a cow gets a massage before its killed! Grrrr.
I was wondering if anyone knew of anything else I could do that would make a difference? :-\
Thanks!

You could always head up your own AR group and focus on the issues that are important to you. Find an animal shelter of sanctuary to volunteer at--they ALWAYS need able bodies to help and it makes a big impact on the animals that are there. There are several really great organizations like Compassion Over Killing and Vegan Outreach that have national/local branches. You can check around in your area for other groups--most universities have a campus group and generally you do not have to be a student to get involved.
I would say try to act locally first--finding ways to end the slaughter of animals is great, but don't forget that there are TONS of animals in your own area that are in desperate need of help--whether it is an abused animal that needs a rescue, a litter of kittens needing a temporary foster, or busting out chickens from a near by CFOS operation.
If you need any help--just let me know--I can point you in the right direction and help you with contacts if you need some. Let me know what you're interested in doing and your general area and I'll see what is around you :)
