What Would You Like Done With Your Body When You Die?

Sorry if this is morbid, but we've been talking about this all afternoon and I'm curious what others want done with their bodies after they die.  This is meant to be lighthearted, as I am not a very serious person.

Both and Andy and I would like to be cremated.  I would like my ashes to be divvied up amongst  those whom would like to have a little bit of me......then the rest go to Andy, if I die first.  He is to wear a necklace with my ashes in it and get a tattoo (a dreaded task in his book) with my ashes mixed into the ink.  My mother has agreed to uphold the law, in my absence.

Andy would like to have his ashes sprinkled into orange balloons with sad faces on them, then released on his next birthday, after his death.  And, yes, I pointed out how un-enviromentally friendly this was.

My friend Megan would like to be stuffed.  I'm not sure this will be feasible, but I could be wrong.

You?

I know this is an older thread, but it's interesting.

I'd like to travel to the desert and die there, then just let the vultures and other animals eat me.

I broached this subject on a different website and it amazes me the lengths people will go to in order to find a "nice burial plot." A friend of mine went on and on about the view from his plot! Excuse me, it's not a summer home!! You're not actually going to lie there catchin' some rays, ya know? The you that is you won't be there and won't know a thing about it. I mentioned that I'd just as soon, if I could choose, be left out on the steppes or something so the animals could eat me and he was horrified. I said, Yeah dude, but  I didn't say eaten alive...I'll be dead! And I'm not planning on selling tickets to the event, I said leave me there, as in go away.
He just couldn't deal.
I can't deal with the idea of people spending thousands on a pretty plot, and a mahogany casket with silver mountings. Cheese and rice!

Funerals and caskets and such are designed to bring peace of mind to the people left behind.

It's the Body Farm for me...

http://web.utk.edu/~fac/

Oh snap... that's like, the #2 option for my cadaver.

I want to donate my body to some sort of scientific purpose.... first, have the hospital take any and all useful organs, bones, etc. that can be harvested, then send the rest off to some kind of research facility.

After reading "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" for a class a few years ago, I've been keen on this option.... but I know that You can't always choose what kind of research Your body will go to. Personally, I'd rather not contribute to military/weapons/ballistics research, or to useless cosmetic surgery practice (the stuff for shallow beauty queens, not the useful/restorative types of surgeries), etc.

The Body Farm would be a cool place to end up.

I used to want to be cremated, but the more I think about it:

I want every single part of my body that is still good to be given to someone that needs it.  The rest of it can go to some type of research or school or whatever.  I have doctors in my family and they really do learn quite a bit through cadavers.

I want to be boiled down to bone and given back to my current university.

People gasp when I mention this but human corpses to feed bio fuel refineries is a viable resource in conjunction with other waste oils... you wanna drive? you need to sign up as a medical and as a bio fuel donor.

Campaign... Are you a bio fuel donor?

there is a natural burial locally on the reservation. wrapped in a wool blanket, put in the dirt, rock on top on the ground. (probably incase you become a zombie or something, make it harder to get out and attack) it is $2000, which i think is a bit expensive, but i would like to go back into the earth as natural as possible. the idea of embalming creeps me out mega, i can't go by a cemetary with out thinking of the bodys half rotted from 20 years back... just gross.

The rock on top is to keep animals from digging the cadaver up for lunch. Although what keeps them from digging around/under the rock, I don't know.

I want my body to be raped and pillaged, and then filled with whiskey and dumped into the rainforest
