Wildfires. Yes, be safe, everybody!

On the plus side, the sunrise this morning was amazing... pink, gold, orange. I told my husband there must be a fire. How sad I am to hear that this is true. :'(

Fortunately, I am safe here in the Los Angeles area as the wind-whipped flames torch the southland. But it is so hot and dry outside. The weather another major obstacle to to battle the blazes.

Hope they aren't in the north or east county. It's bad. We had a little scare when a small fire erupted not too far from us. Luckily they got it out quickly. My daughter has the hamsters/mice packed and wants to head to Mexico.

Sorry...they are probably fine. Nobody has been hurt today and they are really enforcing evacuations. They are giving people way more time to get out than in '03. There has also been power outages, so if they don't have an old phone it might just not work. :)

my work is about 3 miles south of the evacuation zone and around 12 miles from the nearest fires
Ive been secretly praying to Yog Sothoth all day for my work to burn down....but alas...hes not listening and here I sit at work
My partner is in Carlsbad. He says there is a fire 10 minutes from his office. He hasn't been able to get in contact with his secretary at all (the fire went through where she lived). He says there is smoke everywhere to the right and left, except right above him where there is blue sky.
I attached some photos he sent me today. Looks scary! But, he claims the worst is over. Hopefully.

We decided to pack essentials and leave for a while last night. We could see the fire coming from the east and hear explosions. We're back in our house now. We were far enough west that we weren't under mandatory evacuation.
I for one am now very worn out on California brush fires. :(
Hope no one out there had anything happen to them.

My roommate's college closed down because theres too much smoke in the area. :'( My college didnt though, and my organic chemistry professors house didnt burn down either. Dang, ::) I shouldnt have banked on his house burning down before that exam, I dont think I did very well on it.
