What did you cook/eat today: Parents and Kids Edition!
So...who's willing to share what their kids actually eat on a day to day basis? My little girl is 7 and in 2nd grade in public school IN TEXAS, so almost everything she eats has to be homemade. She just ate hummus on toast and two pickles for breakfast because I'm busy answering work emails. Oops.
Yesterday:
B: vanilla Silk yogurt w/strawberries and blueberries. Chai for her, coffee for me.
L: Tacos w/black beans, spinach, salsa (avocado on mine), leftover rice
S: popcorn, smoothies
D: giant veggie stirfry (squash, broccoli, cabbage, baby bok choy, carrots, celery, green onion, garlic, snow peas) with tofu, steamed rice
We made some strawberry muffins (from Vegan Brunch) for dessert...and I had two glasses of wine :P
Other parents...chime in please?
P.S. how the hell do you spell cantelope? It's not in my spell check, but it looks wrong, no matter how I spell it.
I believe it's spelled cantaloupe. Don't ask me to explain the logic of spelling in the English language though. I like much better the way you spelled it. :P
Dinner last night was chili with tofu crumbles. Got to use it tonight as a topping for baked potatoes.

D-3 canned peach halves(my mom broke into the stuff we canned this summer)
I just remember this day because she ate so much!!

B-bean and tofu taco, juice
S/L-peanut butter and banana sandwich, apple slices, cereal
D-pasta w/ sausage, kale, zucchini, and tomatoes
D-vanilla soy ice cream
Thurs:
B- 2 bean, potato and salsa tacos, oj
L- Chickpea salad sandwich, apple, clementine, flax crackers w/pb
S- popcorn, smoothie
D- Grilled tofu, green bean/bell pepper/tomato/garlic saute, couscous, strawberries
Today:
B: Silk yogurt w/granola
L- Leftover tofu and couscous, spinach salad, baguette, clementine
S- three clementines (!!!), flax crackers w/pb
D- Black bean chili (in the crockpot now), cornbread muffins

S- rasins
L-more noodles, orange slices
D- noodles, bean and veggie soup

D: corn-quinoa pasta shells tossed with eb. salt, pepper, and nooch. She had 2 big bowls & some celery.
I just found out she's been giving away expensive snacks to kids at school (they're begging her for them)...yesterday it was chocolate covered cacao nibs (which I bought as a major, rare treat for $10!!) and some organic pistachios. I'm torn...part of me wants to let her share everything but the other part of me says hey! I can't feed her whole class expensive gourmet food!

d: watercress soup (my new favorite thing!) and popcorn.
