What did you cook/eat today: Parents and Kids Edition!
So...who's willing to share what their kids actually eat on a day to day basis? My little girl is 7 and in 2nd grade in public school IN TEXAS, so almost everything she eats has to be homemade. She just ate hummus on toast and two pickles for breakfast because I'm busy answering work emails. Oops.

L: Tacos w/black beans, spinach, salsa (avocado on mine), leftover rice

S-Bumble Bar, Mango Tango Odwalla

D-We're going to make muffins, I think, if I ever get the dishes done.
It's my turn for snack day tomorrow! I'm bringing veggie booty, carrots, and apples w/cinnamon.
Her teacher said something neat today when I mentioned I'd be bringing a HEALTHY snack...and I mentioned this on facebook too: "You'd be amazed at what happens when there are fruits & veggies available. Kids almost always go for them first...I don't think ...many of them usually get the chance!" He said that last year at Halloween, kids went for the fruits and veggies before the candy since "many of them never get to have fruits and veggies at home."
This just affirms to me that we are born with a natural tendency to want to eat healthy foods...
AC, that's great! I will expand more on my opinions of those eateries tomorrow when I'm a bit more articulate and not so super tired. NMPixie, I want a mango tango!
XO,
MA

Quintess, WOW! Thanks one hungry girl. I think they're going to be very tall young women.
